Hi All,
Does anyone have or can recommend a reliable 2 board Jamma Switcher? Both boards are quite valuable that are being used to don’t want anything with a reputation for moody behaviour. Any help appreciated. Thanks Dave |

I prefer the EZ Switcher from RiddleTV.
They are not cheap, but very reliable. They are flexible, so you can add up to 8 PCBs to your setup. Edited by Digimon - 12 Jan 2021 at 4:36pm |

I was going to say the RiddleTV ones. From what I've read the power is properly switched on them so only the selected board is powered up. I believe some of the other ones used to power up all boards that were connected.
I hope to place an order for one of their Track & Field/Hyper Sports ones soon.

I can see the logic in powering up all the boards if it's going to be used to allow random gaming folk to leaf-through the games at will until they make their minds up (regular, repeat power-cycling doesn't feel a nice thing to do to 30+ year-old electronics).

![]() Picked this up off an op, last tested in 1992, a "jamma multiplex issue 2". It's filthy and untested so far. I think it powers both boards at once. So it comes highly recommended :p |

How is the 5V regulated on these things? Is the 5v adjustable for each board or can you only run them all at one voltage?
If it's the latter I guess it's not a problem if you have boards with similar power draw but you may end up running the 5v too low or too high on some boards.

yeh like naomi don’t like 5.1v
but most bootlegs need 5+ but who would have run a naomi and boot back when this was made? is this a chinese product? is that a pat test sticker surely not? Edited by Retroman839 - 12 Jan 2021 at 3:09pm |

Superb point. Sounds like it's as good as your SMPS is at holding 5V over a variety of loads.....

My concern with both being powered at the same time is if one went pop and caused some funny business with the supply it would take the other with it.
But agree cycling on boards (especially Galaga and Galaxian which are bloody old) isn’t ideal. Although I would probably only change on the odd occasion |
