I recently tried using a factory made Vogatek Pacman Jamma adaptor. The pac side (22 pin connector) is wired in REVERSE. So, the 12v from jamma has gone into the pac's 5v rail. Garbage on screen now ![]() ![]() These things are green with a black edge connector. Marked Pacman to JAMMA (C) Vogatek 2011 They also have a Upr / Tabl jumper. f**king rubbish.

I had a quick look on ebay, appears not.
I'll post a picture if the offending adaptor tonight. This has likely ruined my original board ![]() |

Man that’s a shame, hopefully the Pac-Man PCB can be revived.

So the 12v line is actually on pins v and 18? Or the 5v and 12v lines are crossed? As pins v and 18 are blank.

I have loads of Vogatek JAMMA adaptors (and for sale), some are really good, but evidently some are crap.
I have tested a few and from the one's I have tested so far: Konami Classics - good and work well Sega system 16 - good and work well Capcom Classics - Pins Z and 22 are connected to ground! These pins are a 12v output from the board so creates a short. Lifting these 2 pins and it works great 1942 to JAMMA - Power tracks are not good enough to give the power needed, the PCB crashes after a few minutes due to lack of power (PCB is 100% with home-made adaptor) - I have thrown these as they are pointless (except one with a big red cross so I know not to get anymore of these) PacMan to JAMMA - appears that the pinout is backwards on the PacMan side. I have thrown these (except one with a big red cross so I know not to get anymore of these) I will test others as I go through them.

I believe this is an isolated case. Simonden has checked all the other types and they are all good. He is onto the supplier about the batch of pac man adaptors.

I knocked up some adaptors in Circuitmaker, which is open-source and the output gerber files can be stuck in a tiny .zip, with some instructions and you could sent it to one of many PCB sites to knock up a batch.
So if there seems a type of adaptor that people want a few of, we could have a UKVAC library of adaptors that people could make batches of, rather than rely on a supplier. Anyone could sell them or just make for themselves, it's pretty simple. Edited by John Bennett - 12 Feb 2019 at 10:20am |

Happy to do a little guidance on using circuitmaker too. Although you don't need that to make the boards if someone's done the job and packaged the output in a .zip, ready for manufacturing.

Could you shift these to the 'for sale' section please?
I wouldn't want your adaptors to get mixed up with these faulty pac ones. |

Ah, sorry, got nothing for sale right now, dunno if they work. I don't want to sell adaptors either, was more about suggesting we could make our own designs as a group and anyone could sell them. I'll edit the post.

I dunno how much hassle it would be, but you should be able legally seek compensation, as the goods you were sold are clearly 'not fit for purpose'.

Vic, this is the kind of thing John was suggesting, a collaborative effort to make adapters. http://www.ukvac.com/forum/space-harrier-outrun-dx-motor-openboard-project_topic363717.html |

I'm confused. I've got this pacman board here and it works fine off my JAMMA connector. No sure if it's an original midtwat pcb, says something about Tecmo on it.
