Blimey that's a big setup! LOL
Have you tested it yet? Are those LCD screens or the original rear projection screens?

Some pics of the internals would be nice when you start work on it. Smile

Yeah the seats are the moving ones but in the manual it looks like i need some sort of compressor? Will have to look into it
Its still the original projection screens both run but one side had a red tint to it so   will need sorting (i think its going to be so hard to find the projection parts now but will try my best.. worst case would be lcd but i wouldnt just dump the original bits.
Looks like the pcbs are vert in these so might be cleaner

I watched a video on youtube ages ago where a guy was servicing the rear projection screens on Sega Daytona cabs. Apparently he was using parts from old rear screen projection TV's which he got for cheap, that may be an option if you can get some TV's to scavenge parts off.

Make sure the graphics chips on the videoboard don't have dust build up on them though mate, the intake fan on the normal twin points directly on those chips and the dust builds up on the chips/legs which can cause the chips to overheat and fail prematurely.

Nice pick up though, I hope you document your adventures bringing them back to life.
If I only had the space........LOL

Wow deluxe Daytona's, only could ever be bought in 4's or 8's. Any idea where the other two cabs are? I notice those have 3 and 4 on the marquee's

Also are you going to get new camera's for them? It looks like they're missing in that photo

Cheers Ian i will check the pcb out :).. oh yeah i remember that video and he puts that glycol stuff in them, will have to have another look.
As i say they are working just the left screen seems to have some sort of fault but tbh i dont know how they are displaying atall you should see the dust inside its crazy
Im slowly trying to get it all as clean as possible then look into the screen/seat movement.
@paul .. It was fun moving it haha I get more pics up soon
@Ted The owner didnt know too much about the machines but he did say we used to have another 2 but they was stripped and sold for parts.. He gave me a metal unit and said i think this might move the chairs or something but it just looks like a 8 way trip unit for the full setup .. He said they have never had the seats moving or the cameras.
I will look into the cameras but doubt i will ever find them

Super nice

I think there's remotes for setting convergence etc on the rear projections.

Never LCD it, please
In the event you can't get the bits, you could stick a projector in there and fire it off the mirror and onto the Fresnel lens and the screen. That way you'd keep the 4:3, 50" screen and get a nice picture.

You could probably fit some new cheap camera's to it, there's very few of these still running in arcades today but there's this one in Wales with the camera feed working (and on LCD TV's):

Then also this one at Fantasy Island in Skegness without it working, but the camera's still attached:

I don't think many people own this type of Daytona cab, so would be nice to see one complete and working
