This was prompted by an earlier conversation by a VACcer who doesn't have a huge amount of time to dedicate to the hobby; what interesting projects do you have underway that are cool but might be many months from fruition?

Aside from my work on taking Fire Shark to bits, I've got a disassembly of the greatest motion game of all time underway. First goal is to understand the POST. Second goal is to use this to troubleshoot the hardware. Stretch goal is to convert some other games to the platform.

What have you got going on?

Video game related, we're making our own version of our favourite 8 and 16 bit Sega Tunes. It's The Magical Sound Shower Project.

http://soundcloud.com/opus-science-collective

It's caught the attention of Radio Sega who apparently have just mentioned us in a Podcast that's due for upload shortly.

You can follow it all on our Facebook page.

Once the podcast goes live it will be shared on Facebook. You should be able to view the Facebook page even if you're not on Facebook, as it's a promotional music/band page.

Dude, I can only guess what NLoader does, but there's a reasonable chance the N stands for Nintendo so I think we'd all be interested in what you're up to :)

And getting on Radio Sega sounds pretty damn sweet for OSC! Let us know what happens please, especially links. We'll happily plug you here.

I'm doing a lot of Vectrex stuff at the moment as you know...

1 - Trying my damndest to cobble together an Arduino based ROM loader for development purposes mostly. Objective was and always will be "must use parts I have lying around" as I begrudge all these ones that get made in such small quantities that it's a case of blink and you miss it, then they're silly money on eBay.

2 - Inteding to actually write a game. Something I've started on many different platforms and never completed. Proof of concept posted on YT / FB earlier:

3 - Making a new controller that will be for both my Jamma rig and my Vectrex. In the style of an X-Arcade stick but not with so many buttons you could land a space shuttle with it (don't want to make it to Iains shame posts

)

And that's in between a bunch of other more mundane stuff!!!

So busy, busy, busy.

Well, i started to restore this Popeye.

It's empty, the base has been repaired, the loom etc have all been cleaned and I've got the paint. Just about to recap and replace the fly etc in the monitor but it now wont be sprayed until next year.

.
In no particular order I have:

1. Fit card reader to my ID cab

2. Get the big century cab fired up then transported to someone

3. Fit PB 2 into my PB 1 cab with some kind of dual jamma setup

4. Get a New monitor for one of my E2's as it has some horrendous burn

5. Finish fitting the locks, kick harness and N2&GD rom setup to my upright Naomi

6.

got a few 'ongoing' bits that i never get round to...
1. Defender restoration - fully working but needs the artwork stencilling, new marquee, power supply rebuilding

2. create a 'workstation' - bench, all the kit, jamma test rig etc - in my 2nd room so i don't have to work in the dark on the dining room table

3. Port a VCS game - not sure which yet as can never make my mind up - to iOS; have always wanted to make a game but just cannot get my head around how to do it, have some weird mental block about how games actually run that i just can't get past. Obj c. isn't an issue, its just game logic i can't figure out, so need to spend some time on it over winter.

My "to do" list is (in no order)

1- I had to strip down f355 to get it inside where the cabs are, I need to rebuild & sort any problems out, rebuilding f355 is number 1 on the list before I start loosing parts, it would have been done now but I came down with manflu after play & can't seem to shake it off.

2- My cabs are stored in 2 areas of the same building, when I started this game they were fine in the smaller part, now for some strange reason they no longer fit in there so I've had to start using a larger area, I want to wheel everything together into the larger section

3- I have 3 faulty monitors atm in cabs to have fixed or replace

4- I have 2 cabs where the faults are not monitor related, I need to sort out the problems on the Silent Scope Cab kindly given by Rav & sort out the Brave Fire Fighters.

5- Bottom of my to do list & I'm in no rush is turn the empty Vendetta into a turtles cab, I have the pcb & now a monitor, I'll probably end up making a joystick section unless I'm lucky & one turns up for sale.

Gonna get the L2M2 force feedback board in the multi driver, and get model 2 and 3 games and outrun 2 sega rally and GTI club working on the Ps3 with force feedback.
hook up all the flashy daytona lights with an LEDwiz and some other flashy gimmicks for the Hyperspin front end
And make a custom lightbox marquee for Outrun 2.

I also have an old woody shell that i might re-jamma from scratch, have a nice 19" hanty to go in.

Also promising leads on getting my Sega Hot Rod Board working and get that in my 360 driving cabinet I still need a couple of atari 360 wheels with opto pcbs (hint)!! so if anyone has a Badlands panel please pm me :)

In no particular order

Starwars upright rebuild

AstroBlaster rebuild

Konami custom chip re-engineering

resurrection of my ICE project from 2000

I'm also messing around building what I think a pc would have looked like if Motorola had been the dominant chip. Just so I can use some of that crap up I have lying around.
