Wow! That's the stuff.I recently found a vintage action man with kit bag and clothes in a charity shop! Was amongst a pile of cheap modern barbie rip offs! I couldn't believe my eyes! Plus it was only £1.50 View attachment 62380
Thanks Stokers. Me too! Always on the look out for ones with people I know.Another good one matey. I could look at old pictures of town centres all day!
Yeah, it's a weird one because that charity shop usually puts the more expensive items in the glass cabinets and charges more than ebay prices! I also found recently in the same shop, 2 vintage star wars figures both mint and complete! Obi-Wan and a Snow Trooper! They were in a clear plasic bag together for a quid!! Better for me that things slip through the net!Wow! That's the stuff.
Yeah, was better back then. Shopping was exciting with people actually going out and looking and touching what they might be buying, not just clicking a button online. Plus there was the community and social aspects of stopping back then. Was a nice mix of shops with a few bigger stores like woolworths, menzies etc along with various smalller chains and independent shops. Until they started introducing massive soulless industrial size shopping parks and online shopping options that is strangling the life out of once busy high streets. All by design i feel.Another good one matey. I could look at old pictures of town centres all day!
Cash will be a thing of the past in the not-too-distant future.Who want's to go in Town Centres when the looks like Right Photo, used to have Real Shops not Nail Bars, Barbers, Fast Food on every street, 2 Greggs in a town centre jeez, Vape Shops, every town centre looks same with same rubbish shops.
This Year some Banks (Barclays) aren't closing any more as not many left for them to do, but they have been reducing ATM's from 2 or 3 to just 1 now in most town centres now even Oxford from 3 to 1
That's exactly right. Look at how busy it used to be. Full of life, and opportunities. Sadly missed.
Agreed. I was in Kirkcaldy town centre at the weekend. Don't get me wrong, there are some great things about the place. The hight street, however, is not one of them. An absolute sh1th0le of boarded up stores, vape shops and pound shops. Ugly and dodgy AF. It was genuinely depressing walking round that and remembering what we used to have. I suppose we're all to blame for buying our stuff from Amazon and the like. For me, it's getting to the point that I'd happily pay more to buy local... if only it was a possibility...Who want's to go in Town Centres when the looks like Right Photo, used to have Real Shops not Nail Bars, Barbers, Fast Food on every street, 2 Greggs in a town centre jeez, Vape Shops, every town centre looks same with same rubbish shops.

Yes and very sad and dangerous. Losing all our freedoms. Total control.Cash will be a thing of the past in the not-too-distant future.
A slippery slope, for sure. But at least the vape shop owners will have to pay their taxes now..... if they actually sell anything 🤔Yes and very sad and dangerous. Losing all our freedoms. Total control.
And all the Barbers who strangely don't have any customers in but have big sports cars outside. MmmmA slippery slope, for sure. But at least the vape shop owners will have to pay their taxes now..... if they actually sell anything 🤔
