Looks like a bootleg PCB rather than the CVS board

FWIW I bought this last year and have only just got around to looking at it as it was a bit of an impulse purchase and I have been busy with other projects...

Looked today and the board is marked L-1200-1 and Konami in various places.

I have read of Hunchback on modified Scramble h/w... I think L-1200-1 is Scramble?

Yep, L-1200-1 is Konami Scramble (top board). L-1200-2 should be the bottom board.

I can see the corner of a black box sandwiched between the two boards and it appears to be a CVS PlayPack.

So this is a CVS conversion of a Scramble Board.

Looking through the MAME sources it looks like Hunchback on Scramble is actually "S2650" not Z80 for the main processor which is pretty clever.

Maybe the black box is a S2650 and associated glue logic?

If anyone has any PlayPack links I would appreciate them.

Thx

After a year I think I have worked out what I have...

I have translated the other bits of Japanese on the cocktail and they read...

"Shoei Corporation", "For Indoor", "100 Yen Coin" (it only accepts 100 yen coins)

Controls are...  "Control Lever" and "Launch Button"

On "Inspection Slip"
"Date of Examination" 54.6.11  (No idea what format that is!)
"Machine Number" 3064314 (big number!)

So I presume this was a Shoei game originally... possibly a Space Invader look-a-like but it was susequently converted to 240V and re-wired for a original Konami Scramble board converted to HunchBack.

I think Shoei PCBs have more pins than Konami Classic connector so probably a complete harness replacement.

It is missing the coinbox... Anybody got a Shoei cocktail coin box they could send me measurements/photos of so I can make something in MDF?

Thanks in advance

I dumped the Galaxian version (and decoded the address scrambling on the playpack) quite a while back, it should be in the mame archive.

The 54.6.11 is, I'm assuming the Japanese inspection date. They use a format that relates to the emperor, so it's 54 years in the reign of whoever at the time and then I can't remember whether it's month/date or date/month, been a while since I lived there! ;)

Interesting game this and although quite a plain game in terms of graphics etc I always seem to end up playing at least one game of it at Arcade Club !

Well Escape-to-88-san,
You are spot on. Showa 54 is 1979.
