    Posted: 13 Jun 2019 at 12:40am

When having to test a lot of PCBs and MVS carts form arcade operator raids, we have learned one thing when operating Rastermania for over a decade... You need a good testing device for all these boards and carts.  One of the tools used for this is obviously a Supergun.

Having seen a multitude of Superguns we have always found to be something missing or something that could be improved....  We were thinking "Hey, we should do this... We should make a supergun thats made for 2019, not for 1995."

So we did.

In more or less world premiere right here on UKVac our very secret arcade project a few years in mental preparation and over a year in actual development : the Kodai16 Supergun.

The Kodai16 will bring Arcade gaming into 2019 and beyond with a flexible and modular buildup allowing for a wide selection of game boards, controllers and audio/video outputs by design.

Full presentation and more info this weekend at Revival - come and see the prototype hardware at table 19 (next to Consolekabels.be ) and have a chat with us about the features, we might even put some in that you like and havent thougt of ourselves - its that flexible...

Here's a peek :

Interesting.
Is that an FPGA/CPLD to do video upscaling? That'd be nice for a supergun.

As you know, the cost of a new supergun is much like making love to a beautiful woman...

First, you have to thoroughly research the market, deciding which model you like the most....

... make sure all the curves are in the right places, ease of access to every button and all switches can be flicked before inserting the electric cable. Then, like a blind man at an orgy, feel your way around and make sure everything fits like the proverbial glove before a night-long session of gameplay

Does it have the ability to adjust video sync?
I have problems with the picture rolling on some of my boards.

We JUST missed Revival with this due to stuff being stuck at customs, but here's the first assembled prototype.

It even powers on without any magic smoke !
