Thank you. I might as well drill it then cos it's useless as it is.

Is there anyway of getting the knob off the stick?

So drilling it didn't work. It looks like the whole shaft is just welded into the metal block so there's no way of removing the top plate. Bugger!

Any one got a sega gearstick with a roll pin they wanna sell?

Let's hope this goes back together as easily as it comes apart!

Think I'm just going to sand blast the pedals and give them a polish

Not gonna help you with the pedals, but I recently added the steering and shifter breakdowns here:

I was tempted to buff the pedals but the sandblasted metal looks ok.

As I said at the start, this isn't going to be a NIB restore, just a steady tart up.

Only things left to do are apply new sideart when Muddy makes it, and swap monitors with a different cab. (This one has altered beast burn in)

Out of interest did you have to bend the plate to remove
The rod that holds the pedals. I can’t see how to dismantle the deluxe ones bit it looks similar to yours.

Finally got a stick and plate sorted.

When I bought the game it had a bodged turbo outrun stick in. I bought a good condition top plate to put on it but the turbo stick was too thick.

I then bought a rough gearstick mech with a rusty top plate with the intention of swapping in the nice top plate. Except it turns out the early version of the stick I had doesn't have a roll pin and isn't removable!

So another £30 later I get ANOTHER stick and plate. It's all fit together now and looking much better.

I'll be selling on the spares to recoup some money back if anyone needs a nice top plate

.
