Hi Fredo, yes I’ll take PayPal when the time comes.

I should mention 2 things worldwide-related:

1- I’ve no idea of worldwide postage costs (up for suggestions if Royal Mail is ridiculously bad for folk)
2- I’ve not tested 60Hz yet. Should work in theory, but I might send an initial unit to the USA before any bigger quantities. (I know Chile is 50Hz, but I just remembered to mention it

Very impressive/scary numbers already!

Bicton - no, sorry, it's different to the Power Drift board (itself something that could be done as a later project as we've got one to copy).    Ok I understand, fingers crossed!

Oh, that's interesting - not sure why the link I had said 50Hz

https://www.power-plugs-sockets.com/chile/

It should work anyway, just not tried it - I should have a go with a signal generator to put my mind at rest - see if it syncs to it.

Hopefully shipping remains less than the cost of the PCB. It's fairly small and light compared to most game PCBs (it's just the heatsinks that add the height.

Finally!! Took me months to fix my SH motion driver board last year!

So the OUTRUN DLX (834-6035) controls movement in 2 directions
and the Space Harrier DLX (834-5801) controls movement in 4 directions.

How does the board know which game it is in? Are there dip switches or something?

Also looks like you got rid of the flaky optocouplers. Nice.

It's actually a dual-channel board, in many respects.
There's a pair of 4-bit inputs from the CPU board which go via a pair of PALS to a pair of Triacs and triac-drivers (and clutch drivers).

So one lane isn't populated in Outrun.

But a fully populated board should work in outrun, it just doesn't do anything with the extra bits as there's no speed data going in and no motor connected.

One of the PALs is an 'A' variant in space harrier, which makes it perform slightly slower. We have a jumper to set that.

Yes, it's a diac opto-coupler going to the triac, so there's loads of them around
Logic-level mosfet to do the clutch too, rather than the Darlington driver.

Sure, please do, might as well aim for 50, although I’m starting to fear the reality of the monster we’ve created.

Hi Jhon, Argentina is 50 hz (PAL) and Brasil is PAL-M  (525 lines y 29,97 frames per second)  50HZ.

The page is wrong Shocked, Chile is 60hz and NTSC, I bought a lot of japanase games when was child and no have any problems in my snes.  One time I bought a pal megadrive and brasilian Atari 2600 and only see black and white images and rolling image.  ("Chilean games" don't work in brasil and argentina)

I think the same in the shipping cost, will no be more expensive than the board.

Regards
