I am a locksmith and I have had these 3 magnetic locks in my collection for literally years. Today I noticed they have "5380" stamped on the side of them!

I designed a magnetic reading system to read and decode these locks many years ago on an Arduino touchscreen and a tiny hall sensor. I had to fab one tiny, bespoke, specially thin PCB for it, made me learn Eagle and etching, it was a very fun project.

Anyway, having realised what locks they are, I am in need of 3 x Sega 5830 keys and I will have 3 complete locks then! So far, the online options are not very attractive...

By the way, I do specialise in vending/gaming locks if anyone needs anything opening and you lost the key, or need any advice just let me know.

How these locks work is actually fascinating, they are made by MIWA, a Japanese company. For anyone interested too, here is the little Arduino locktool decoder I made. It is used in conjunction with a "Make up Key" which is a blank key that you put magnets of the correct orientation into and then use that to open the lock, after the electronic decoding process, of course!

I did try to embed the video on YT here but I can't make them work so here are the manual text links, if anyone cares:

Cheers in advance.

Hey dude. Yeah, I totally get the delay in chances getting to the unit and all! I am in no rush, after all, I have had these locks about for years now and only just realised that they were the Sega ones. I am pretty sure I traded a Sega 5375 last year, but it was for a very cool Evva 3KS cutaway.

Anyway, if you could grab me 3 keys (ideally) next time you are there then I'll pay you for them, of course! Please let me know though.

Cheers!
