First 'proper' batch just ordered, will have some spare (once they arrive) so if you want a kit or PCB, then let me know. (in case I need to get some more)

no problem, just let me know if you want kits or just PCB's and how many, and I'll put them aside for you.

PCB's have arrived, so I should be PM'ing people tonight at some point to see if you wanted PCB's or full kits.

I'll also update my web page so that the ones of you who only wanted PCB's can download the .jed files to program the GAL's up with.

as a sideline, I am in the middle of trying to fit one to a bubble bobble where all three hybrids have failed, will let you know how I get on.

It could be worth doing a proper PCB for those as well - not sure if I own any boards that use them though, so may need to be on the lookout for a loan PCB (with a month turnaround on PCB's I'd need it for quite a while!)

Well, it turns out you can also use one on a bubble bobble where all three PC040 things have failed. just needs a wee bit of wiring ...

and gives a picture like ...

although the PC040 supports 6 bit DAC and /BLANK signal, bubble bubble doesn't use them, with the lowest data bit permanently connected to GND and /BLANK held high. so it should even look the same as the original!

I was asked how I connected one up to a Bubble Bobble, so added that to the instruction page.

as always, no guarantees - it happened to work for me, but there is also a -5v and 12v there, so don't connect it up wrong!
