I'll bring some Jammie Dodgers! I may end up eating them myself though. LOL

Thanks mate. Smile

I've played new and older pinballs and it's such a minefield choosing one I'd consider buying! It's subjective as to what is considered a good pin and what is considered an average/bad/boring pin. As much as I want to just dive in and buy a pin, I think I need to take a step back and do a bit of research first.

Whilst some people love a game like Dr Who, when I played it I just couldn't get on with it. Looking at the rating for your JM, it's in the top 100 on pinside! Looks like you made a good choice. Thumbs Up

My first real "grail" cab. Nothing against my other cabs, but I thought it would be a long time before I grabbed one.

Thanks PeterCasino for letting me have his working one :)

Interestingly, it's an Irish built example - but marked as 110v and has US coin mech. I presume Ireland supplied the US? Anyone know for sure?

Collected a couple of Jamma cabs last night Smile  I'm going to put Pandora boxes in them for some variety. I have a Pandora Box 4 knocking about somewhere I just need to buy another.

Is there a review thread anywhere for these boxes as I see there have been a few new releases?

Some v nice pickups above.

Yeah on the newer pandoras watch out for non jamma-video out versions / images.
Some are VGA or HDMI out only now. We could do with a Pandoras box ID section or something, there are tons of types.

Nad sent me a ribbon cable the other day which was much appreciated.
But today when I tried to fit it unfortunately the cable isn't the right one, the connectors are correct but whilst I can plug one connector in the other connector is upside down for the 2nd PCB.

I managed to find some connectors off ebay and managed to make my own cable using a bit of old IDE ribbon cable.

But today this arrived today from Honolulu.
A Jamma Nation Sptitfire with voltage LED and negatron.
I'm getting old now so I now need autofire to save me from my aching feather finger during long gaming sessions.

So now I can play Time Pilot......that is if my PCB would work properly.
After reseating the roms I discovered one of the sockets was damaged, after squeezing the socket together the game booted but the sound has a loud humming noise and is distorted.

Ah well, at least is displays a picture, that's half the battle!

Interesting adapter. Time Pilot is a lot kinder than some shooters though, as it fires several shots per press, so you can actually tap the fire button pretty slowly to get full-speed firing. Smile

Yeah, I don't ache so much when playing Time Pilot, but it should come in really handy for playing games like Raiden and Tatsujin. The price of the classic Konami Jamma adaptor and Spitfire cost more than the Time Pilot PCB. Luckily I had a coin bin full of 20p's to pay for them all. LOL

I recently got these Act Labs CRT lightguns, and can confirm that they work perfectly with the newest version of GroovyMAME at 15khz resolutions, and in either one or two player.

You do have to recalibrate if you switch to a game with a different resolution, but that's quick and easy to do. If you set them up properly they have pinpoint accuracy.

I just realised I can get a proper game of Lucky n Wilde going on my MAME'd driving cab!LOL

What did you pay for these, I have a pair I'm not sure on value or what to do with them.
