Cab base repairs

I am a little unsure how to approach the repairs to the base of my cabinet. The wood is damaged and rotten in parts and would appreciate some help or guidance. I was told to use wood filler but I'm not sure where to start. Were it mine I'd...

1 let it dry out (if damp)
2 Knock off anything really loose with abrasives.
3 Use wood stabilising solution (brush that on)
4 If anything is really mushy (like some of those traingular pieces look) replace them.
5 Glue, screw, staple!
6 Fill to shape.

Sounds easy!

The plywood base looks OK so you shouldn't need to replace that, but even if you did just replace like for like - Same timber and same width.
