I've a real one (MacSE) at home too.. Scsi HDD has been replaced with BlueSCSI SD card.. but don't despair, I connected the disk lamp out to "beleth's drum", which is a little vibration motor attached to the metal frame so that the brrp brrp brrp of the disk is preserved.

This is great, did you use a CRT or is it flat panel?

Interested to know which CRT if you used one of those as I heard the colour classic ones have to be modified to change the resolution?

Did you keep all the original SE/30 innards ?. I still keep one on my computer desk, great little machine, best of all the classic Macs. Crystal Quest is the killer app IMO.

The one in the example was someone's "bad" shell (cigarette burns etc) and was sold empty on ebay with a couple extra holes drilled etc..

I have a working Macintosh SE (non-30!) with bluescsi dropped in.. and "Beleth's Drum" motor for HDD sound simulation :)
