Does anyone have any in their collection, basically anything not Pinball or Video Games.

Examples would be, Fortune Telling machines, Strength Testers etc.

Would love to see what you have.

As shown on occasion before I still have one of our happy time (Glendale cab) puppet theatres and the market cart conversion we did in 1991 to a Tracy island thunderbirds with tv show theme music just been refurbishing last year still needs a paint job on the roof but puppets all restrung where required… The Disney one is now just without a music box timer as I borrowed it for the Trigger horse kiddie ride restoration last May … but there’s a few in workshop just need slight attention to repair ….

We have had alsorts over the decades fortune teller, laughing policeman and love tester type games ( I have the plastics to one of them quite handy)

Then to keep the grandkids happy no home collection is really complete without a 2p coin pusher or for those with a big garden have your own bouncy castle 😁

Had that one for over 30 years comes out on my birthday or other family occasions . It’s a simulated television with a weather map of north wales in the rear to look like a weatherman on a rough sea? It sports the Wales dragon both sides and used to be on the concourse front of Colwyn Bay pier when we had the arcade on there in the 90s.

If you have less space there’s always a variety of vintage allwin style flick ball wall machines like our Win a Mint it vends Polos when the 9 cup design is generous to you tho I prefer to load it with refreshers or love hearts as Polo mints are not that exciting!

Below that just visible every home arcade should have a Beaver vend … economics at its best … you spend about £30 to fill it with Smarties then insert 20p coins to the value of about £80 to award yourself a meagre portion of the product !

Sadly our grandkids don’t spend anything as nana has a stock of 20p coins on the window cill and our 3 daughters all have one of their own anyway so it’s mainly a self indulgence limiter 😁 but a great way to save about 50 quid ? Surplus to refill cost..

I have Glendale Chicken, Parrot and Monkey, Steer a Ball Troll machine, 2x single 2p Pushers, Dockmaster Crane, Streets Penny Bowl and Mills Pirate figure one arm Bandit, though the pirate has no arms currently, Pinball Gumball and one of those machines you have to get the loop across wavey metal without touching it but it's a 2 player wall one

I'd like a fortune teller.

I don’t want to upset you and your belief in the “Great Morgana” as she tells you of a bright future …(which can be slightly random if it’s a record track? ). But the card she presents to you is preprinted and stacked so the only true prediction is the next person to insert a coin will get the next card . Boy or girl it’s what you interpret like a magazine horoscope!
However they are fun if you had one just inside your front door… you have the top half of a good looking woman in a glass case who only eats coins …. The cards now are very hard to acquire tho’

A fortune teller called Lucky Lady is a modern version of the vintage gypsy style cabs & and made in USA about 30 years ago all the others are very old now and the price would reflect the age value?

The said plastics …. Another myth
“Talking” love meter..sadly, I never met a girl who scored top “nympho-maniac” ….

But on balance I never got it to call me “ stud” or even “macho-man” even after sticking my hand in front of the gas heater for 20 minutes….

It told more lies than Kier Starmer! … took lots of money off many wanna-bes tho, if a crowd of teens came in they would all have to try it… just like the fortune tellers? … Just like Rachel Reeves?

So are they just random? Or do they actually measure something like the heat of your hand?

I remember one that measured your grip strength and it told me I had the grip of a gorilla. Don't tell me that was fake too!

Not certain on the love meter as it never went faulty so it just got cremated when we needed space for something else?
It could have been pressure sensitive as it scanned the palm of hand? I don’t fully remember to be honest!
The strength grip and speak weight are fairly accurate as they measure the movement of your grip or scales.

Like Boxer punchballs it’s the speed the ball travels back up to lock.. you press start it drops through an opto and knows it’s ready to hit… the arm of the ball has a blade ‘flag’ which when punched travels back through the opto and the display shows how hard you hit it by the speed it breaks the opto for. …. Slow travel=weak hit etc.

Old I speak your weight scales have a normal accurate analogue needle around the scale chart and at the same time move a stylus up a cylinder prerecorded at diff ent heights as the needle goes round . As the coin drops through it activates the flywheel timer (like in an arm pull bandit) just runs enough time to speak a short phrase usually as you step off , again never spent much time inside one they just worked ok mechanical.

I'd say there's a way to cheat those punching bag games somehow.

Another one I remember is the classic giant mallet that you strike down, and then some kind of widget moves up a tall platform to measure the strike.

I remember blasting one out of it and the hammer bounced straight back into my face, almost broke my nose :p It had a clicky feel to it for a few weeks

That's a nice 2p Pusher, similar to the single one I have but I think these are slightly wider, they would sell no problem for £600-1000 when I was buying them years ago and paid about same for mine which as usual is in worse condition but can only buy whats around, it fits in perfect the size mine is so couldn't swap it

I know you won't like the price though Dave

Price is fine , But can you do it for under £300 ? lol. If I find the right one I dont mind spending the money. Needs to a small ish one as would need to go through a door (Although it will be (Not fitted yet!) sliding door). Has to be a top loader , Cant stand the ' Flip ' ones , Absolute pile of s........

The one you listed is ideal , I have been looking at that one. Needs the 2p slots , unsure how easy they are to come buy mind.

Dave.

P.S I Could do with finding some poor sap who needs to sell quick as they being kicked out of there house or something , Price is good then ! lol
