....but I would have put money on my brother taking you both on bitd as he was very good at T&F probably the best in our local arcade at a guess,he used the same finger 'flicking' technique as well his fingers were a blur

I distinctly remember on the first opening night of arcade club at the original venue, seeing a guy, whom I cannot remember anything about other than the complete blur of his fingers rapping over the buttons on T&F.
I had never seen anything like it, nor had i ever seen the dude on screen run so fast or jump so far.
I think I actually "whooped" out loud with excitement at seeing this tremendous effort. I also remember the guy turning round to me after his game had finished and asked if I wanted to play 2player against him. To which I made some pathetic excuse and ran away !!!
Mind blowing skills when you actually see this being played at this level.

I think mine and Jon's styles are quite different, I use alternating first fingers on each hand and on only 1 run button - so when it comes to the hurdles, I am pretty much screwed. Back in the day, I always used to play as a pair with someone else, one on run, one on jump, so I never really evolved with my style and got good on my own. Jon as you say is just a blur, so I cant even tell what style he uses ! lol.
Jon's style is significantly better than mine though....I'm in a lower division I am afraid.
