This might be one for Norman @69er if you remember seeing these at all?

Got this Electro mechanical pinball which I'd assume you win gumball at certain point of the game, maybe even one while you play
As with a lot of this old coin op stuff its been messed with over the years, no game or makers name, probably should be where its painted right of the coin slot

has metal flap on left side where gumballs would be dispensed

Haven't found anything about it so far to even sort out getting it fully functioning again, pinball side does work

Thanks Chris @Bods : a ‘fountain of knowledge?’ But sadly this particular game I am not familiar with however I have seen one or similar on a couple of occasions. If I recall maybe a trade show or showroom early 80s or perhaps a seaside arcade then also ??

It looks in nice order on playfield. Good rubbers?

I assume it vends a ball gum or gobstopper on insert of coin and to encourage spend it gives a brief pinball game where the object is to try and perhaps light all 6 red/green lamps by hitting the standing contact targets with flipper shots …. Maybe hitting all 6 (before losing the ball,?) extends play time to a bonus reset game but no further vends per coin?

The picture below is one of 2 I still have from the mid 1970s and slightly earlier? A ball gum vend with a gun firing ball bearing which run back. down the slop to auto reload. It’s just mechanical with a mains bulb to illuminate the rear of the game. Insert coin via a triplex footy table style coin slide… this resets the targets in the windows and loads the gun with several shots ability tho they only hold 4 ball bearings….if you shoot too rapidly it wastes shots if the balls don’t return to the gun so slow patient aim is best? The ball gum vends at reset down to the similar flap .it stand on standard pinball style legs .

The gun can be fired and hit targets which when hit advance the score and shooters skill level from ‘corpse’ to ‘marksman’ or levels between ? It’s made by a company called JOHNSTON PRODUCTS and we had 4 from new so also have an odd flyer somewhere too ! Don’t know if they also made the pinball vend game ?

The gun is patented T.A.Tratch and modelled on the older 60s ‘pussy shooter’ cat on a wall skill shoot game .. our other is a Wild West saloon cab while this one also has a saloon target but somehow got into the big top circus style cab? … the gobstoppers vend via a rotary disc similar to the ‘Beaver’ sweet vending units seen outside newsagent/sweet shops many years ago but still a popular side business in resort towns today .

Just for info the bandit to one side of the picture is also electro mechanical 1971 taverners ‘millionaire’ 1p play 10p win with random hold and 27 ways to win with jackpot symbols any position in the window plus the usual cherry and orange fruit wins.

It takes 1p 5p or 10p credits and if you win the whole win bank and any remaining credits pay out in pennies ( often seen in pubs back in early 70s I acquired this my first ever bandit in 1974) the game starts by tilting a dickiebow shape lever up or down on the front of the cab .. still works ok too!

That’s best info I can give on this occasion!

Yes that’s the flyer … Colin and I had much of that stuff … old penny merchantman 1930s mechanical cranes with black jack and fruit salad sweets in..

10p Waltonian a 4 sided rotating mirror with pull back arms to win prizes … we saved aerosol caps to hold rings necklaces and bunches of mixed coins ..
a favourite pusher was our Cromptons cakes walk like 6 player the bays had several alternating push shelf fingers just one coin wide and the drop pin backboard almost insured most pennies went to the side lost zones .. also original penny falls with the log rafts side to side action. 1p and 5p bays

Those were the days summers seemed to last much longer but in reality we only got about 8-10 good weeks plus Easter .. most holiday camps and even main tourist areas. Later pubs became our saviours and selling or siting pooltables with Mark .

Most given away when sites wee lost as tenders were outbid or just got outdated with better items? Especially when Mark joined us 1982 ish we put pooltables in every possible space as layers spent more time in the premises playing all machines.

Wheel em in .. roll a coin between lines..
roulette and various horse racing centrepieces and many of the early video games … while Colin had piles of stables we had kiddie rides outside numerous shops and other ops arcades .so in winter needed that storage and of 7-8 arcades most were only rented on short lease except Cambria and Sunnyvale which were occupied for well over 30 years … Colin built and owned Seashells arcade in Sandbank rd Towyn in 1981 half way down to Knightleys funfair but it got totally flooded out in 1990 when the sea wall was breached by high tides 3 ft Deep sludge . One of those ball gum venders died there that day 28 Feb 1990 … arcade was all ready to open for season the next weekend so had to try rescue some of the coins from tubes and pusher beds etc but elaut crane teddies all got drowned ..even bag fulls in storeroom.

After cleaning up Parker’s Black Cat next door re opened but seashells was sold initially to another bingo operator but soon got changed to a rock and gift shop .

the only survivor was a metal case 10p dock crane but inside it stank terrible and never earned another coin just an ornament . Cambria also flooded in Gainc lane but we got in next day and tipped fruits on sides and lifted the best machines up out of the water not so sandy/muddy as it seeped under the doors
One of those was a low cab crane with rotary mirror base and windows all sides and top .. water got just knee deep so the Big Ben em pinball never got wet .

We invented the coin op puppet theatres in converted Glendale egg cabs too! Still operated our Nellie elephant egg vender till 2021 “Hello don’t I know you” “what’s your name?” she says etc.so simple with that attract speech like several egg vend rabbits and bears we had . Great earners and we filled our own eggs with nice jewellery too .. rings and badges key rings alsorts.

Those old cranes were great, always on those. I have the Dock Master Crane in metal case, It was perfect to go with the other machines from same era, wooden ones look lovely but bit old to fit in with 70s pusher, thats why I bought this pinball as it goes well with the other stuff, I sold the 2 player treasure bay when I got the Single version as I was always needed space back for something else lol

I have on of them Super Flipp's, that is just a mechanical one, you get a few tiny gumballs and one glass marble you can win by shooting it in the correct hole on the play field. If someone has a gutted one I think I have a spare play field with some parts for it!

I remember theese machines from entrances to supermarkets and shopping malls when I was a kid, it was also another version with a pistol to shoot your coin so you could win it back (free gumballs if you made it)

Edit: saw now that the Gun game was mentioned earlier in the thread...
