Nothing to do with arcade but for sure technical lol
I have a fairly expensive coffee machine that uses a bus system to control all the components and it uses a som module and have been told it’s on the Linux platform? This module is stuck on the boot skin screen so would seem it’s not running but I’m not sure!

I have another module which works but often goes wrong bringing up bud errors and firing up motors etc when it should not!

This som module can be bought but the company does not provide the software or any support for getting it on the card. They only sell the entire driver board with the lcd screen complete with programmed som at a cost of £1200!

I know it’s a long shot but I know there are some clever guys on here, my thinking was transplanting the memory chip on the back into a new som card , I believe a new som card can be bought for around 60 quid,
I would be very grateful if anyone could help or advise

Thanks Ronnie

All you need is a development board for this thing or a custom made motherboard for it so you can acces the usb, display and so on. It could be an expensive one time job.

Thanks guys any help or advice welcome. I guess a workable outcome might help others, the coffee machine is a bravilor bonomat esprecious and they are around 5 grand, not that I paid that I bought a couple that had been sited

What I wondered was if all the needed files etc would be on that 512mb tsop chip that’s on the back of the card

Couple pics of actual card

The driver board on the machine has a card slot and maybe a modem port , the card slot is for uploading custom video or images to the display

My mate replied :-

" Fixing that machine might be a journey. If he is lucky, there will be test pads of a breakout for USB or some other way to get to the storage on the main board. Might also be able to get lucky and find a broken one on eBay that's got a different issue. The other option is to fudge about with what is still working, and see if you can give it a brain transplant "

Thanks for asking him Dave I will look at the driver board for usb pads but the card would need to run to be able to read the contents I think?

J12 is USB interface and Serial interface. You might be able to get to the serial console either trough the debzg serial or the one on J12.
You might also be able to make it boot from the SD card. Datasheet says it could. Not a easy job to do. You also need a good working one to able to dump it.

Thank you, I do have a fully working one but would have no clue how to debug or work with Linux, if the card could be copied and new cards written to I guess it could save a few machines in the future
Thanks Ronnie

Well, you need someone with linux knowladge. An Intermediate/advanced raspberry pi user should be able to do something.
Ok can’t think of anyone local to me and posting the machine not an option it weighs a ton! That might be a bridge too far!

I’m still wondering if salvaging the tsop chip and swapping it into a new som card could be an option

From the usb pins which is the 5volts? I see ground D+ and D- is that all I would need to hook this up for seeing the contents of the flash drive?

Thanks Ronnie
