there is zero chance of putting a CRT into these without some serious construction work
but for the OP, bargain, lets hope they dont realise
I’d personally send it back but …
You have to build them anyway. So why not build better and around a CRT if not doing the honest thing

Not quite the same, but I ordered a sofa from Ikea and they gave me a big rectangular box, assuming it was the sofa pre-assembled didn't think much of it, until I got home and it was 2 sofas stacked in tetris syle end to end 'L' shape on top of each other!

One things for sure ,if they’re keeping it .to play it ,it will need built/ / assembled
Maybe that would be a good time to modify it .
14 inch crt or the likes
Just a suggestion as there is small cabs with CRTs in them

A little tip, pop a set of bed risers under each corner and it's so much better(even on the included riser it's a bit low for such a vertical screen) that's how I have mine. I upgraded my screen to another LCD recently, not a huge improvement but far better viewing angles. I really like the cab, some fun games that work great with the controls.
Wish I could use the spinnner with Major Havoc, i remember playing years ago on a tempest conversion. Not that great with the track ball.
That's one of my favorites on the cab, I think it works well with the track ball, but then I've never played it with spinner. I somehow never happened upon it back in the day, fabulous game!
