I had many in the past and they can be used for net boot etc. They were used on I think the satellite soccer games etc in japan

It’s like a normal dimm unit but lacks the gdrom connector

If you switch the top pcb with a scsi one it’s normal again :-)

Yeah that's a pure NetDIMM, as far as I know. Will be fine for netboot!

How much do they go for? I could do with a netboot setup but they are always big money?

I've got one of those up for sale bundled with Naomi-1 and RPI net-boot setup as I've converted all my setups to use the Sega CF-solution as I prefer that way of loading the games.

They work exactly the same as a normal Net-Dimm but don't have the circuitry for the disk interface - I flashed mine up to firmware V4.02 using the same process as for the version with both interfaces.

Also if you have a dead dual port net-dimm you can swap the top PCB's over or if you have one where the network port is faulty you can swap to the disk-port version and boot from CF-Reader if you upgrade it to FW 4.02.

They're worth slightly less than the dual-port net-dimm so £100-130.

As you've got one - check the FW version, personally I'd upgrade it to at least V3.17 - although I've had success net-booting with V3.03, don't try and go straight to V4.02 as I bricked one trying to do that.
