Hi all,

I have a problem with Twilight Zone pinball flippers

The right side llwer and upper flippers are weak during gameplay. Both test ok with plenty of power but in normal operation via side button they are feeble .

I have no manual for this machine , so any pointers would be helpful.

TIA

Bill

make sure the opto's on the flipper opto board are clean, as that will reduce the amount of power it sends to the flippers.

worst case, the opto's may be failing - easy way to find out is swop left / right boards over and see if the problem moves.

I had this problem and replaced the opto boards which solved the issue.

Lift up the playfield - you'll see it on the inside of the cabinet - on the other side of the right flipper button

Oh man, the right flipper on my Data East Star Wars pin has recently become weak.  Should I have looked at this opto board thingy (I've no idea about pins) before shelling out for a flipper rebuild kit?
Looking for:)

Well you guys were bang on !

Cleaned the optos and, sure enough, it sprung back into life:-)

Oh  and thanks for the manual.  Is there a general repository for manuals anywhere , I have a couple here i could scan if they are not already archived.
