Took me a few hours to get my head around things with the clone

I bought some bits from Amazon and it worked well so far, the usb controllers are it bit naff but I can put 3-4 USB items on the hub okay and power supply seems ok with it.
I used my computer to copy update_all script and the boot system MisterFusion and away i went

'TRIXES Pack of 2 Wired USB Controllers' - needed something to control with and my USB keyboard helped too.
'SanDisk 128GB Extreme microSDXC card ' - seems big enough
'100W USB C Power Adapter Fast Charger for Mac Book Pro 16'' 15'' 13'' 2016/2017/2018/2019/2020'
Mines going in a cab
Jamma connection powers it ( I hope )

I use MiSTercade. Way better than JPAC or the Irkenlabs ones for lag. It is less than 1ms or something daft.

It would be good to have a cheaper option though.

EDIT - I checked and I had a JAMMasd NOT an Irkenlabs one. I have no experience of them it seems!

SQ Arcade do a Mister to Jamma/JVS adapter on Aliexpress, if you wait for one of the many sales you can get one for under £75 posted including VAT, ideally though you need to get the Jamma DB15/SNAC adapter as well to reduce the controls lag but thats about another £40.

Although there isnt much documentation for it, it does come with an SD card already setup.

Ive got one but still need to get round to setting it all up, and I using in a Chewlix with LCD so maybe a bit overkill, but it will let me test the JVS adapter that came in one of my Chewlix's.

There is also a page somewhere that did loads of test with different USB controls to check on the lag, will have to see if I can dig it out.

Controller Latency Spreadsheet - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KlRObr3Be4zLch7Zyqg6qCJzGuhyGmXaOIUrpfncXIM/edit?usp=sharing

Github for a guy who has designed an cheap Arduino USB controller with minimal lag - https://github.com/MickGyver/DaemonBite-Arcade-Encoder
Yeh daemon bite ..
He talks about it on the podcast
Mister fpga stage events.
Least amount of lag possible

Ah balls, I just checked and I actually had a JAMMasd adapter NOT an Irkenlabs.

Sorry I got mixed up there.
All good. The JammASD needs retesting due to firmware changes - its supposed to be far better now though still not down at the 1ms range. I've not seen the Irkenlabs tested however my experience is that it's extremely good. Would like to know numbers!

He rushed to much with this business, he should start from pre order sale with month, two or even three waiting time after all pre orders sold out, this way everybody would get their device and he would have time to produce second and maybe third batch for instant purchase.

Where would be the fun in that, pre orders are boring.

He has said he will be doing monthly runs and don't think he's bothering with cases going forward now there are 3rd party options.

But seeing a few posts on X and forums looks like there was an issue on the I/O board with incorrect capacitors on the audio circuit so not sure if he has addressed that with the next run, but looks like I/O boards ares still in stock so likely the same ones as batch one.

The guy is just a hobbyist trying to fill a gap for a cost effective alternative.

You can buy a DE10 Nano and Mistercade but it will be £600+ after shipping and taxes!

Personally I’d stay away from AliExpress clones but YMMV.

Can you upgrade the firmware on an original jammasd? I bought one because of the built in audio amp but they are really bad adding 3 frame of input lag.

Good old jpacs do fine. Way cheaper and have no input lag and compatible with a groovymame set up as well as mister but you need to faf about with a separate audio amp.

This kind of reminds me of the Spectrum Next - massive demand out there with people aching to throw money at it but they make tiny amounts so no-one can ever buy the damn thing. Its like they want to be the next Ferrari when the real money is being in the next Ford and producing loads of what people want... Artificial shortages just to prop up demand are a pain in the arse
