i hear they are the healthiest way to cook i must get one
i think that's just because people who used to deep fry chips now use them, or that is the narrative

it's like saying my oven chips are healthier than the chips i used to get from the chippy

i will update this thread when mine arrives and i use it, my dubios-meter is ready and waiting

I bought a 5.5l Cosori a couple of years ago and it gets fairly regular use. I cook everything in our house and I use it more as an addition to the main oven than cooking a whole meal in it. Mine is a single draw jobby though which makes it harder to cook a complete meal but I like the larger single area as you don't want to stack food in too many / deep vertical layers if you can help it. They do heat up really quickly and can cook certain things a fair bit faster than an oven. I've noticed a fair few frozen items now have cooking times for air fryers which show those reduced times.

We don't have a lot of chips but it is great for those. I'm quite fussy about getting things evenly cooked and the air fryer does a great job of that, especially if you shake the basket a couple of times during cooking. They're great for finishing off baked potatoes after starting them off in the microwave too. We do 'fry up wraps' (sausage, eggs and hashbrowns) every few weeks and the air fryer is great for doing seven chipolatas and four hash browns in a single layer which is the perfect amount for the three of us. I've not done many 'main' meals using it but I did make some [Chicken Karaage] in it that was really good.

I was late to the party and at first tried most things in it to try and make sure we got use out of it, not just sat there.
It is fantastic for doing chicken thighs etc so quick and nice not dried out at all . Although I prefer to do chips in a fryer , wedges and Jacket potatoes if done right are great in the air fryer. Our Ninja has 3 settings grill , air fry and bake. I assume bake is just like a normal oven not really used that much , maybe I should. I find it frustraing that a lot of packaging on food has not caught up. Also different brands of wedges cook so differently. I dont normally shop at Asda but their Asda wedges airfry a lot better than some other brands, if I cant be assed to make them. Jackets as done in book below are great, the cheescake was not so great ....

This is only book apart from the manual we have for the Ninja one we have.

well the fresh chips were better than cooked in an oven, and lot easier as well, no messing about with oven gloves and trays, easier to get them to cook evenly also

the litmus test for me will be when the silicone things arrive tomorrow and see how it cooks the chicken we all eat daily, we must go through about 30 chicken breasts a week in our house, if it can cook them without us having to watch them and turn them over like we do on the grill, this thing will be a godsend

The air fryer drawers are pretty quick and easy to clean but those could be good. I quite often cook chicken shish kebabs in there with quite a lot of seasoning. I just put them in on wooden skewers. Seems to work well

we seem to have a winner, we go through about 50 chicken breasts a month with all manner of seasoning on them and have been using it the past few days with those silicon insert things, just because i dont want to have to clean the tray after every cook, and it literally is winner winner chicken dinner

consider me sold, i wont use it to cook everything, but it certainly is handy for some things and doesnt need warming up like an oven

What are people's tips for decent chips?

The actifry was great as it stirred them, which softened up the edges and gave lots of crispy bits. Sadly ours eventually packed-in (wrecked the mechanism).

The static air fryer we now use just heats the chips and they end up like little inflated potato bags. Oven chips work a bit better in the fryer but that feels a cheat.
