Hi all, new to the forum and hoping for any help, my mame cabinet houses a 28” monitor with a Hantarex dual sync chassis which isn’t starting up, just sparks on top of line output transformer when powered on, I think I can hear the tube fire up but no image. About 10 years ago I sent this chassis off to a guy called Grant but don’t know how to find him, or whether he still repairs them, I’m willing and able to discharge monitor etc and can solder and use a meter. I’m just not sure where to start. Any help appreciated. ThanksIMG_1790.png

I'm the same as Grant, I have many flybacks in stock but only really keep them for repairs. I haven't had a bad one from Tecknoservice yet. I've just been sent a HR7375 from them despite in my case ordering a HR7191 that I needed (sent mistakenly or not), i've yet to try it but the technician there assures me it will work in place of a HR7191 anyway. Looking at the pinout it's much the same, probably will work with a jumper change for pin 1 and 4.

tecknoservice is spain has them, not used any of his yet so no idea if you need to modify anything
Wow so Gunblade=Grant, haha, perhaps I contacted you through here 10 years ago, can’t remember. Thanks for the info, I will order one from tecknoservice, do you know if there any transistors or diodes etc I should check before installing new flyback?

I am sure they'll work and yes they are all made it China now but teckno is paying $5-$10 each for them and then you look at what he's charging. It's a lot cheaper to buy from arcadepartsandrepair.com in the US and pay a middle man to ship them.

I'd agree with Ace, while I haven't had a bad one from them yet, pretty sure there's a no returns policy as he's had a few people try to 'have him over' in the past from what I can make out from the wording on his auctions on eBay, so if you did happen to get an iffy one there's no returns on it from what I can see. Having said that, I even got a bad one - HR7717 with a bad focus pot/block - from HR themselves some years ago, HR are even having some of theirs made in China and badging them with their own labels and boxes looking at some i've had from them before. I can't remember if the HR7717 was a Spanish or Chinese made one. Some HR ones now are original made in Spain ones but some are definitely China made ones.
Hey Ace, can you get stuff from arcadepartsandrepair sent here? There's some bits i've looked at myself i'd might like to get such as flybacks, width coils, even their test pattern generator but didnt know if they posted to the UK.

no they won't ship directly sadly but a forwarding service isn't that expensive. I recently bought a 20ez flyback from them as no where outside the US seems to sell them.

Hi Grant, I got a new 7375 fly back from teckno service, I’ve just installed it correctly as far as I can tell but the monitor does this.
On power up the screen comes on after say 3 seconds with a bright white screen it stays on for like 10 seconds then I can hear a faint click as the screen goes black. The neck of the tube is glowing even after it shuts down. Really at a loss now and feeling disappointed 😞 any advice welcome

If I remember correctly the Polo 2 get's its heater voltage directly from the power supply rather than the flyback (which is where most chassis get the heater voltage from). Turn the screen control on the flyback down if it isn't already. Check that the resistor R40 on the neckboard isn't open circuit, it's a 10ohm flame proof type. These can go open circuit very easily from static when handling the neckboard. Otherwsie check the poly caps behind the flyback if you've not done already.
