Star Wars Dilemma

I've found myself with a tough choice to make. I've now 3 different Atari Star Wars machines and don't know what to do for the best, actually its 4 as there is an Arcade 1up one too but that doesn't really count.

1. One of Attention to Details fantastic replica cockpits, its an incredible cabinet, the quality is amazing but still empty as it arrived.
2. An upright with Amplifone popped up locally whilst the cockpit was being built, too good to miss
3. Then an original cockpit came up with the Amplifone, again it had to get it while i could.

The easy part is that the Arcade 1up has to go. Hardest part is what to do with originals, should I move the working parts from the original cockpit into the replica and sell the original as a shell (I've a board and yoke to go with it)? Or stick with the original which isn't too bad at all condition wise and well ts original.

Then do I sell the upright, probably should if I've a cockpit but is it best to hang onto one now as not getting easy to find?

I've attached some photos and would value opinions, particularly on cockpit dilemma.

Steve

I’d try and keep as much original as I could, but that’s just me.

I’d keep the cockpit and sell the upright. They’ll be bits to keep these going forever as they are popular and loved machines.

I mean, there's got to be something to be said for also keeping as much original as possible on the outside, preserving the OG internal technical hardware somewhere else and replacing with an FPGA ... right?
Sell the 1up and either keep or sell the A2D cockpit as a shell or find parts to put it together.

Put the bits from the A1Up into the shell, at least then you will always have a machine that works...

Wouldn't count on that

I would keep the original Cockpit as it looks quite decent one, original is always best. If you really like the game and have space hang on to the Upright too for now and out the others

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/317113751344 This basically shell with Pi inside and flat screen to get a working cab was sold and then resold again pretty quickly minus the spare control panel etc

Cockpit Monitor Surround and CP on currently https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/127414134554

If you have the space keep the original cockpit unless it's a bag of spanners. Check the 25" tube works as the cockpit really looks and plays at it's best with this. Keep the upright (with 19" amplifone) as a source of spares if you can, it also makes a handy test rig if you have to fix the boards... The rest is is moissanite.
