A cool skill toy was WATERFUL RING TOSS (can be seen still on eBay) mid 1970s
I was already too old for toys generally and had a few arcade machines by 1977 but this toy quite cheap at the time caught my eye ……

Filled full of water in a tank the light plastic rings need to land on assorted hooks or targets then tip upside down to restart ….
The thumb pump turbulence sends rings up the tank and try get them all hooked

Various designs and difficulty by model

However so frustrating the water turbulence could dislodge rings already home and need re-launching …NO BATTERIES NEEDED we still had one when our kids were born early 80s and seemingly on eBay still available today! Hours of fun.
THEREFORE MUST BE COOL 50 years on!

The palitoy factory used to be in coalville and my dad used to have a TV rental and repair company around that area, so I had quite a bit of starwars action man etc as gifts !!

My best Xmas present ever was a video recorder box just full of new starwars toys, I remeber it now still !

Great thread Bods, nice one.

I'm another fan of Evel Knievel and his dodgy 'stunt' cycle.

It was nothing like this though -

Reminds me of Duke Kaboom from Toy Story 4

Also, I had a Micro Scalextric Set called ' Race n Chase ' which was basically cops and robbers which was very cool.

Rubiks Cube was also a big favourite, along with Star Wars figures.

I'm currently trying to master ' speed cubing ' but my hands are too effing big.

I had a Race n Chase, very cool. You hit the top of the controller and your vehicle did a 180. Was also that bridge in the middle.

Wow!! Yes!! I forgot about the button on the top, how cool was that! That bridge! :ROFLMAO: It was like a Seesaw! You either hit it at speed and the car launched off the track by ten feet or you tried to take it easy and go up the bridge and the car got stuck!!

Yeah you did, lol. When I’d finish with Race n Chase I’d get Evil Knevil out and fire him up the bridge. Happy days they were.
