I'm considering trying to hook up a PC Engine to a little cab I have, dedicated to just playing PC Engine games. Is this something someone has done?

I know about the JAMMA adapters, but they seem as rare as hens teeth, and I'm pretty sure the cab in question isn't JAMMA wired anyway.

Just thinking about the technicalities of doing this at the mo. Any insights would be appreciated.

You want a tour vision pcb
Or mister ..
Or pc
Or pi

Unless you use a scart to rgb s adaptor to hope up scart to the chasiss rgb s G

And consider hacking a pad
( not sure if you can get pc engine controller leads now to usb or open ended to wire into buttons & stick )

Looking to use genuine hardware, really. Don't ask why, I just am. Lol. Plan to use a turbo overdrive Pro so that I can play CD-ROM games. Can mister etc. do that?

I have a 21" scart TV in storage that maybe I could decase and squeeze in... 🤔

Didn’t someone on here do it before ,to play parasol stars on an arcade cab ?
I don't remember seeing that, but I'm sure someone must have done it before.

One problem that's cropped up is the controller. Seems the PC Engine controller pinout has 2 inputs on each pin, handled by a multiplexer on the joypad PCB. Knew it wouldn't be simple. Lol

I modded a Mega drive board to run in a Jamma cab. Wired everything to a Jamma edge, used 2 cheap 6 button controller boards to pad hack
bypassed the voltage regulator so that it could be powered by 5V from the Jamma edge. wired up the RGB and sound etc
worked well but now replaced with a MiSTer as it plays everything, CD games, for Saturn, MD, PCE, Playstation, 3DO, even CDi lol
and also all the awesome arcade games too.
Pair it an RFID reader and you can instantly load your game by tapping the tag you want to play. no menus etc.

also nice guide here, swap out the MD for PCE, but remember the PCE doesn't natively spit out nice RGB, will need to mod it a bit to get the colours right
Thanks, I'll have a read.

I use these to get nice RGB/audio out.

Not sure how the well the output will work if I use an arcade monitor, though.

As another idea, I made some of these setups for me and @Iremfan some years back using Viletims RGB SCART to JAMMA adapters.
