15 pin Williams power connector

The main output plastic connector on my Williams power supply board is a 15 pin header type, the cab is currently running off a switcher but i would like to get it as origional as possible - unfortunately i dont know where to find the right connector to wire in.

I am fed up of guessing these things and ordering connectors only to find they are the wrong type so does anyone either have one lying around or know of where i can cheaply get one. If a pic is needed please let me know...

It's a standard Molex KK connector. You can get them from RS and the pins. I had some issue with the pins off reels, much more success with bags of individual ones.

To save you guessing, what you're looking for is a 15-way molex "KK" series 0.156" connector housing.

CPC/Farnell/RS may well stock them if you can't find a source. Sometimes I've had to buy larger connectors and cut them down.

Yep, that looks the part. Don't forget you'll also need the crimp terminals as DanP mentioned.

Worth checking out the other connectors too if you're refurbing the PSU - the input connector from the transformer is prone to arcing and blackening the pins/melting the connector.

yeah, im going to get a few bits, the power supply isnt working at the moment so need to work out what is wrong - the -5v led is not lighting up - and get the parts to fix it, if possible, usually i end up doing more damage

- Original burnt PSU connector

- Replacement new connector

- Complete Williams Harness connector replacement kit from The Real Bob Roberts

- Hanlong Tools HT-225D Full Cycle Ratchet Crimping Tool (awesome)

- Roll of 1000 156 Crimp Terminal (enough for a few rainy days here)

Not an expensive shopping trip and means you can just replace them all as you go
