Ok so I was not going to post this repair but I am bored so here it is !
So we have a Afega - Red Hawk. First off there is no schematics for this and very little info regarding it. This repair took around a month off and on (I only do an hour here and an hours there). PLEASE NOTE - There are no rom location markings so cant give you them.
The faults we have are :-
1) Major graphics issues - all over the road.
2) Player 1 controls not working
3) Player 2 controls not working
4) When you press the bored the screen shifts and graphics change (Hard to see as initially whole screen was a mess)
So we were greeted with this when first fired up :-

So i probed around for a while , Marking chips and only found a 245 that had a few outputs dead , So i piggy backed and still no output. This could have been correct but the only way I would know was to pull it. First bit of a test on the board to see how easy it was going to be , Its was not easy. Could not do it and was worried about wrecking board so cut the chip. Pics here of the chip and the board.

Socket and replaced and no different !!
So started probing again and a 245 near the CPU seemed to have something to do with it. I piggy back and got graphics back !!

So i pulled the 245 , socketed and was all good !

So onto the controls issue. Now when coined up it starts to rotate player. So basically its selecting player 2 (Start) and pressing right button rotating. Tracked this down to yet another 245 in the controls section (Will mark below). Pulled and socketed. So player 2 ok now but none of player one where working. Yet another 245 same area ! socketed and replaced. Now cant start player 1 or 2 game. Yet another 245 faulty !! Pulled and replaced and controls are restored.
Below in red are the 3 replaced to fix controls :-

So next issue was the screen shift , I dont have pictures of the issue but when you press top square large chip screen shifted and graphics glitched. On a visual inspection (Missed on the initial one !) I founf a joint that was not even soldered !!!

Wow a major manufacturer fuff up !! Re soldered and we have a fully working game. I believe there has been a voltage spike as there was so many 245's effected in the same area. Not 100% though.
I will say this is a very good game , Not had many goes as yet but will be as soon as I get time.
So for the crappy right up , I rushed it a bit as i pressed wrong button and posted before i had finished !!
You are welcome to leave comments
Dave.
EDIT :- Only other thing is i capped it as well , did this 4 odd years ago so assume there was an audio issue as well at some point. I didn't have a record of it though.
