Yea I did try without editing anythingDid you use the SD card that came with it without changing anything?
There is controls mapping file in controls\input\ on the SD card, if you havent used that then that could be your problem as well.
There is a download of the mister.ini and the controls map file on the arcade projects forum you can copy to you sd card. Post #16

And fun factory ( the manufacturers or at least the seller on Ali express says
To delete the semi colons infront of the no merge pid and vid ?
I wil only try the .ini exactly as you have shown but just saying conflicting info all over the show.

Does yours say define joystick or sticks ?

They are the correct VID and PIDs.
First try just taking the ; away from
;no_merge_vid=0x045E
;no_merge_pid=0x028E
If that doesn’t work out the ; back in and put this
no_merge_vid=0x04D8
no_merge_pid=0xF3AD
Maybe there is a VID and PID for that other adapter you have. It would be much easier to focus on getting your main device going.

I don't have mine setup yet, awaiting an adaptor cable for the power I out as I've already mentioned.
You don't need to change the vid or pid numbers just remove the semicolon from in front of the two no_merge entries as its shows in the excerpt I posted from the mister.ini on the sd card that came with mine.
If there are no stick mappings you probably need the map file from that zip file I told you download from arcade projects as there is a preconfigured map file for the controls for this card which maps to the vid/pid of the card.

I replaced the .ini and the contents of the input folder With the one from arcade projects .
The semi colons are removed on the no merge vid & pid
I think this bord is faulty .
All the usb sockets can stay asleep and I need to pull them and re insert to wake them ?
At first I thought it was a dodgy
bluetooth dongle .. but now it’s any port any device .

I’ve never had to define my sticks. It’s just picked them up from the VID and PID and controller config supplied with the Mistercade.

My power adapter arrived today, not had chance to put in a cab yet but set it all up with the provided SD card and connected to HDMI and a USB keyboard I was able to boot it up and load a core and got audio out of the headphone jack above the HDMI connection and mess with the settings and play a game using the keyboard.
Need to edit my mister.ini to get a fixed resolution out of the VGA socket (Defaulting to native resolution of core) so I can plug it into my chewlix later tonight and test the controls.
Configured the large Dips so SW0 is on/up, the one all the way on the right when looking at the bottom of the board with HDMI on the left.
Need to stick it in my cabinet later on and check the audio output from the RCA jacks and the Jamma Edge and the controls.

VGA has some cool crt effects best I have seen ever.

Highlights so far on the provided card are neo geo / snes / genasis looks complete set .
Snatcher on mega cd
Castlevania jap Saturn .
My ini is now allowing me to use 2 player but strangely last night new development is … player 1 is now player 2 and visa versa

There is an option to swap players 1 and 2 in the mister menu.
Whichever control you hit first on power on should be p1.

I followed fantasia on downloading the controls input file and the .ini file
Added those into my .ini
And also deleted the ; Semi colons infront of the no merged pid & vid
And also added the no merge vid & pid into the remote app inputs page ..
So basically my style is shoot gun …
So I don’t know yet which if any singular one of these things made the difference .. and I’m also still using the usb out with Antonio’s jamma add on so 🥴. But it works with all cores as it stands so I’m happy
