Though being into goth and metal, it's a shame it's only the music remake. I'd have loved to have seen the demo remade

But that's just me and my music tastes, which are obviously very personal.

Well done.

That break at 9 mins or so where the Rolf Harris samples start, still remember that from all the years ago.

You would not believe the debate we had about whether to leave the Rolf Harris stuff in or remove it, given recent news.

But it was decided to stick to the original as much as possible

Glad you guys like it!

Yeh, I did wonder about that, really glad you kept it close to the original.

So come on then, as cmonkey already asked, what was your connection to the 'scene' at the time?
Ah, I do miss the Amiga days, had a couple of mates in Formby who used to frequent various BBS's when I was at Liverpool Poly, so never a shortage of new demos and other things to fill boxes full of 3.5" disks!

I think I've still got my copy of the Amiga Hardware Reference Manual ,bought brand new from Waterstones in Liverpool a few days after I started poly (strangely coinciding with the grant cheque clearing probably, also strangely matching the day I bought an external disk drive for my A500 from that little computer shop that used to be near the Adelphi, opposite Aladins Palace (think it had a orangey/yellow facade to it). Never did get very far with learning to program the Amiga, really wanted a HDD for it to get rid of disk swapping so much.

No, I wasn't in LSD. I have been friends with Echo/LSD since we went to school together. We used to swap audio samples, and play our own compositions to each other for feedback. Some of those bits were used in JOE's

I wonder if guys like Quartex, LSD, Red Sector did actually crack the games or just lend their intros to them. Also whether they actually were gamers at the time that played the games or just hacked em & moved on?

Just been reminiscing over some old Amiga demos and some of my old sound modules this weekend. Anyone got any favourites to share from back in the day from the Amiga scene?

One PD game (whilst strictly not on topic) I used to love, and still do was called Drip. The music is a sample played pretty much over and over, I'd love to find out what that sample was from.

What a cool looking take on Amidar!! I'm going to have to track that one down and give it a go for sure.

The only demo I ever saw 'back in the day' when i had my A1200 was JoE's. I absolutely detested the music (and still do, can't stand that kind of music) but the visuals were mesmerising, I'd never seen anything like it before. I don't even remember where I got it from as I wasn't into the 'scene' or anything. Maybe it was on a cover disk?

So I'm just starting to go through and discover them. There have been a few that I thought were pretty awesome but I haven't written them down (oops!) I'm only up to 'D' so far and it's not including AGA at the moment.

I'd agree that Arte is very good but having used it for diagnosing what I thought was a fault on my GBA1000, I'm now all 'Arte'd out and don't really want to ever hear it again!!
