Archer MacLean restoration pics

Hi All,

I found these on my laptop from around 2005 that I gor from Archer (following a couple of email exchanges) which may be of interest to this group. This was when he was in his "heyday" of restoartion addiction if you can call it that ! Fantastic work...

He used to have a page in Retro Gamer Magazine in its early years with details of his restorations. A very talented chap indeed.

Is Archer still into collecting and restoration, or did he jack it all in?

I'm pretty I was involved in the supply of that very same Japanese Space Invaders cocktail to Archer. It was a local guy I knew who owned it, and I travelled down when it was delivered. Archer was great, he invited us in to check out his arcade and workshop, and play a few games. Spent about an hour or so there. Still got the pics somewhere.

The exif info on my photos say 25th January 2002.

I wonder who owns this know, does Archer still own as I know he did sell some of his games?

BTW did these cockatils have smoked glass over the monitor or would it still be plain glass ?

I've not seen Archer for a few years (at least 4 or so) - used to bump into him from time to time at various arcade related things and events but fairly confident he will resurface in the future at one of the retro shows. He works hard and doesn't mess about, so no doubt he's busy with other things right now !

He sold me a Battlezone upright which I treasure, and I also have a Missile Command which he originally imported back in the day.ColinD2017-04-11 21:11:06

Spoke with him last year, he'd still got a few cabs he wanted to restore at some point in the future - 'when time permits'
