My place of work were clearing out the old office and offered that "anything that isn't bolted down" can be had for free.

So I grabbed a PC (Core 2 Duo I believe), some leads, and some other bits and pieces along with this...

...Apparently not working, the CPO has gone along with the memory card & headphones slot and the LCD coin counter is bust, but it's in overall lovely condition otherwise, no water damage or anything. I haven't even plugged it in or looked inside it yet as the keys got lost. Hopefully it has 6 MVS carts inside.

Not bad eh?

Benefits of working for a games company I suppose

That is most definitely an awesoem freebie... get that front lock drilled and find out what delights are still inside. Hopefully a working 6-slot and if the marquees are anything to go by... Metal Slug, KoF 99, Pulstar and Blazing Star... can't work out the other two.

So I drilled the locks and its pretty tidy in there apart from needing the usual good cleaning.
Loom is intact, no hacking has been done, however it seems to be missing its power supply

It does have a MB & carts though

Here's what was promised on the marquees: Metal Slug, KOF 99, Super Sidekicks 2, Pulstar, Savage Reign & Blazing Star...

And here's what I found in the MB:

Looks like there's a couple of originals in there, but I'm not sure about that blue Blazing Star - I wonder if this is the Pulstar in disguise?!

neo_board.jpg

MB has got a couple of jumper wires on it, I haven't separated the boards yet, but I can see a big battery has been fitted and sealed.

I see this one came from Andy's Arcade

Original Hantarex monitor - Nice!

324K Plays...Seriously?

I'm well chuffed with this, I now have to read up about the power supply and give everything a good cleaning then see which bits work and which don't

What a fantastic cab to pick up for nowt. An excellent selection of carts in there too
smiley20.gif

Psu was probably a Hantarex US250 which you should be able to replace. I can sort out the cpo for you next month too if you want one.

Just pay postage if it is what you need.

That's a kind offer but I don't think it will fit - mine has 4 plugs going into it from the loom located in different positions, the 250 as muddy suggested looks correct. I'll look into it though.

Cheers

The 150 will cover a lot of the power requirements if you can't source a 250, the difference between them is the 150 is lacking the 110v supply for the monitor which can be covered by using an isolation transformer.

Cool, so long as it fits without chopping up the wiring. Thanks for that

Got an email from work today saying they had what they thought was part of the cab...

hantarex_psu.jpg

Yey, it's the missing Hantarex US-250 PSU as Muddy suggested it might be

Looks like that transistor has got pretty hot, it's also wobbling like a jelly! The big connector looks a bit brown too...

I'll have to open it up and see what the board is like inside & check the other components, looks like I'll be reading up on repairs of these, I saw a good thread about this somewhere - have to dig it out. Hopefully I can get it working again otherwise I'll try and source a replacement.

Fingers crossed the MB is in working condition!
