Hi Guys,

In an attempt to re-invigorate this thread as time is indeed ticking along. Could we have a role call for people that are planning to go for the two days and try and firm up a curry after or similar.

I'm looking at purchasing my tickets and just want to see if there's an appetite for this or not. As I'm fairly local I could travel both days anyway if there wasn't the desire/numbers to make it happen.

On a different note, I really would like to try and get to meet up/know a few of the peeps on here as whilst last year was epic as an event I only knew a few peeps and whilst I probably saw loads of you, at the event, we would've passed like ships in the night.

Cheers

I would love to go for the weekend this time, but can't afford a hotel.

Anyone know of any campsites near by? or anywhere I can do a bit of wild camping with the motorhome?

It is only Newcastle Taz, 2 hours on the train from Edinburgh. Early train Saturday, Sunday night train back up and your in business - only 1 night to pay for the hotel. Virgin tickets go on sale exactly 3 months before travel date I believe for much cheapness. I am sure there are tons of cheap B&B's in the toon, and usually there is a NERG deal at a hotel close to the venue.

As for curries etc, sure I am in for anything, but probably will be making the trip along to the Black Bull in Gateshead if there are any live bands on one of the nights.

Thanks Bomjac.

I've looked at these deal sites for hotels B&B's etc I can't find one that I can afford along with travel, tickets, food, beer and what ever goodies there may be for sale.

Need a job or a winning lottery ticket.

You should make a weekend of it and stay over at the hotel with a group of about 40 of us

Well that got a decent response. Would love to be number 41 at the event after party of the year.

Has the hotel been decided or will this be nearer the time. I guess we all try to stay together or close to at least?

The Elephant is walking distance but not the best when I stayed there the first year but it did the job and the breakfast was nice. tbh probably better than the room where BigPhil stayed after the cops and ambulance staff had to get through to the lobby roof!

I'd stay at the elephant again the missus wouldn't lol

I suppose I best book a room somewhere for the Saturday night.....Ramada is a bit too pricey for me, coming in at £135 now. I'll just stay further away and drive.

Always worth remembering that in ANY University town, you can usually find student accomodation for a very reasonable price. I am seeing £40 a night / £140 a week + VAT for standard room. Also do not rule out the obligatory youth hostels.

I actually stayed in one of these places in Aberdeen a few years ago for the rincely sum of £85 a week in a city where that will not even get you a hotel room for the night most times !

@taz you could always just find a hotel knock up the punters until someone let's you In. Grab a settee next to the dining area and get chucked out at 6 A.M. by the chef lol.
