Just wanted to share a little fix I did today, no photos but could help someone out.
Basically I picked up a Bally Williams 1990 radical pinball and the 2 Displays were dead. No activity on them, no voltage present. Was pretty annoyed as I thought I’d have to spend out on 2 new displays which are not cheap.
Tracing the loom I went back to the power board where the + and - 100v is generated for the displays. I recapped the pcb and result was a faint and random display. Reading through the manual it suggested replacing R1 and R4, both 39k ohm 1 watt resistors.
Swapped both resistors out and now the displays are like new.
