As in Retro Revival 2019 in Walsall.

I don't see much chatter on this list for the event.

Anyone going?

Premier Inn is a popular choice. I'm staying at Bentley Green, but I know that others are staying at Walsall City Centre. City Centre is the better location for a few drinks in town whilst Bentley Green is better for parking... iamjimmi2019-04-08 13:48:28

There’s loads of great ones. There’s a bunch of B+Bs and apartments nearby I know some of the exhibitors use those. The main one is the Park Inn next door but it’s been fully booked out by Rod Stewart who is appearing locally all through June. There’s the Premier Inn on the Wharf, a Premier Inn just down from M6 J10, Holiday Inn and a Holiday Inn Express and a Village Inn all directly on J10, which is just a mile or so to the venue. Most of the crew are at the Premier Inn on the Wharf and the Holiday Inn I think as they were only 40-50 a night when booked early. Will be a bit more now the date nears.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm booked into the Premier Inn Town Centre for two nights, Fri and Sat, 82 quid - bargain!

I'm flying into London City on Friday afternoon (working in London Monday/Tuesday) and thus need transport to Walsall and back from there.

Anyone have expert advice on my best option, hire car or risk public transport? Is parking OK at the hotel and venue?

I'm looking forward it, I haven't been to such an event for ages.

Walsall Train station appears to be a short walk to the Premiere Inn, and it looks like you can get the train from there to the Bescot station which is a short walk from the event.

That's dedication! You can get rail links literally to outside the venue from London via London - Birmingham - Walsall - Walsall Bescot links. If doing that I'd say just go to Walsall and grab a taxi to and from the stadium - it's literally 5 minutes from the Premier Inn. Driving yourself will be good too and there is plenty of free parking at the stadium.

the last time i went via public transport i went from:

Virgin Trains:

London Euston > Birmingham New Street

change to

West Midland Trains:

Birmingham New Street > Bescot Stadium

when you get off you are in the middle of nowhere. =) you walk over the pedestrian bridge at the rail station, out onto the street, cross a road and you are there.

Takes about 2hrs in total. All the best!

I've booked into Premier Inn Bentley Green. I'm driving up from Essex on Friday afternoon and back on Sunday evening, there is space in the car if someone wants to split petrol.

Hopefully the cleaning staff at this hotel won't steal anything, the Holiday Inn Birmingham M6 J7 last year was an absolute nightmare.
