Can the Xbox 360 controller effect a TV remote?
I have a 2 TV-one box system setup from Dish Network for my satellite TV. We have the box in the basement next to an Xbox 360 and it is very difficult to change the channel upstairs whenever I play an Xbox 360 game. We have two wireless controllers to play with. My question is, can the signals from the wireless controller and Xbox 360 interfere with the TV remote's signal? If so, would buying wired controllers fix the problem?Conners2011-05-09 08:27:55

The xbox controller is on 2.4Ghz, same as wi-fi and bluetooth and DECT phones (and some satellite intermediate frequencies) - oh, and also quite a few of the TV / remote transmitter things

so yes, you may get cross talk between them.

(one I got was that some satellite channels were garbaged, but were fine if I turned the phone off! - switching the channel on the phone solved the problem)

unfortunately, making it a license free band means everyone uses it, and not always co-operatively.

wired does not use the wireless signal, so yes, I would think it would solve the problem. to test, have the xbox on, but turn the controllers off - it that works you are away.
