I got hold of an original capcom/Mitchell Pang 'untested' pcb with a few boards.
So I was not holding much hope on this one as its got the battery that holds data for the kabuki z80 cpu.
Low and behold a purple screen greeted me.
Off came the battery.
Next job to reprogram the 2 roms near the cpu with the unencrypted romset, labelled 6 and 7.
Then move/cut pin 28 of the cpu, so it acts like a regular z80.
Now time to test....
Well its running but we clearly have a colour issue.
This pcb has a test button and in the menus it has a colour test, scrolling through this, confirms we have missing colour.
I headed straight to the colour rams(8c,9c), piggybacked them with some 6116's and we had a slight improvement.
Off came the rams and into the tester.
Added some sockets.
