I brought this in a job lot untested, so I wasn't expecting it to work, however it did start up, but missing all the sprites.

After giving the board a good inspection, I noticed the 2 2015 rams on the top board (a2,a3) had alot of corrosion on the legs. After probing around, most of the data line's and address inputs were dead. Desoldered them both, they both failed out of circuit, hardly surprising.

Upon closer inspection some of the pads looked very corroded, cleaned them up the best I could but ended up putting a couple of jumper wires in for better contact.

Fitted some sockets and robbed some 2015 substitutes (mcm2018n45)

Now fully working.

Nice one! A fun game this.

Don't you find it weird that only a couple of chips has rust while the others look fine? I've noticed this on quite a few pcbs. It's like if the chips were made from lower quality metal or something.

I was surprised no other chips had rust, all I thought was it might have been covered up but missed covering the edge of the board. But as you've experienced it before, maybe it is a quality issue with the metal. Just stuck it up for a valuation, I have no idea what it will fetch. Not played it before, so I'll give it a good test, maybe I won't sell it then
