Anyone gone through this process at all or have any tips for reducing the general crap that gets thrown your way?

My accounts from back when facebook launched so I fell foul of a load of popular cretins from school and every other part of my life trying to beat each other by the number of friends they had - it's full of accumulated pap.

Not used it socially for about 10+ year but do miss out on a lot of useful stuff in a few groups on there.

I access it from the phone app in the main which is annoying because I heard of the news feed eradicator which is good for general browser use.

Don't really want to have to delete the account and start again as private groups assume you're a spammer using a fresh account.

I often wonder what I did to deserve the "Recommended for you" suggestions.

Here's how to unblock a bog using cling film...

Mind you, without suggestions, you'd quickly realise how few of your mates people still bother to use Facebook now

I dont use facebook but I do have a general email tip ...

In hotmail you can set up aliases that send to your main account. This is really useful where places will only accept one email like the GP's. So I set up mine using my hotmail and three others with aliases that come to me. The big advantage being some systems only allow one email and if you register again deny you. they are not clever enough to notice the alias goes to same address. I dont want some places having direct emal toall my household.

I also use an alias for when send people on ebay stuff like roms lists, so can always just delete my alias if needed ! You can send as an alias too but assume people can work out where it has come from.
