Danscu kindly delivered this to me today, a nice Crystal Maze the newer version with Ocean Zone, looking in the back boy lots of boxes, circuits and gawd knows what. Certainly looks a far more complex business than your standard arcade cabs. Typically it rained when we bravely dragged the beast up the hill, steps, path and garden to the games room (thanks Danscu)

Now that is a tidy example, with artwork 99% complete, no less. You need to turn it on and show us it working then post a video of your achievements.

I just need electricity to do that, haha, I need to buy one mega long extension lead, currently it parked out in the games room (which more resembles the arcade graveyard nowadays.

be carefull of the battery on your mpu4 board,I would remove it,if your not going to look at the machine for a while,or it could spill it's guts and f&#k your board

I have one - Still love playing it now, in fact it was on last night. So much fun. The V2 games were a lot better. See if you can find an upgrade board.

It was a payout skill game. Covering agility and puzzle games all tight on time. You then eon time in the crystal dome and had to grab ad many gold notes to win the payout. This was made hard by the number of silver notes. The ratio of which changes depending on whether it had recently dropped a prize.

quite fun to play

I used to love playing this when The George & Dragon (hazel grove) had one, it used to take a fortune, it was hard to get on it, I remember x2 lads who used to play it and I reckon they used to own one because they were amazing on it, even if there was hardly any seconds in the crystal dome they used to get all the gold notes

I remember seeing loads of these in pubs I was taken to by my parents BITD - was still fairly young so can't recall having a go in this form.

I do recall having a go on it however - Did the game go on to appear on those multi game touchscreen skill things? The ones that had Who wants to be a millionaire on them?

Well, it only took a year, but had another look at this yesterday, as was debating on what to do with it. Still no joy in powering it up, just the fan, red MPU4 light came on, but nothing else really happening, TB2000 suggested repluging in the game cartridge so tried it this evening and hey presto, Richard O'Brien appeared...

At last I have something that actually works! many thanks Tony for the suggestion. Typically, I found I had no pound coins in my wallet, so am forced to wait another day until I actually get a go on it!

It should give you two test credits if you leave the back door open. You will need to push in the cherry switch (can't remember what they're called now) to activate the monitor while the door is open. There should be two white switches at the level of the bottom of the back door.

Cheers dude, yep found those buttons, only snag is the door needs to be closed to turn the monitor on, I ended up using a bit of wood to hold the monitor button in while keeping the door open then pressing the other one in for the 2 credits. Good fun game, amazing how long a go can be for your £1. Rather enjoyed it.
