Okay, I might be embarrassing myself here. I had people coming over and the only one of my machines still not on freeplay was the DK.
I needed FP with the attract, and couldn't be arsed to buy another braze kit (great bits of kit, but I wasn't interested in the high score etc..)
I did search for FP roms, couldn't find any, so hacked my own.

*Disclaimer* hacked in my usual messy way, fixed the only bug I could find, but let me know if you find one.

I've attached the JAP and the US version.

I've only ever played the JAP version, hence I thought something went wrong when doing the US version and only having 2 stages. What's going on there? Seems a bit crap to have just 2 stages, or am i missing something?

I can let you know the relevant number of players/lives/level memory locations if you want them.

The US version has 2 stages to the first level, 3 stages on level 2, 4 on level 3 etc.

I haven't played the Japanese version but guess you get all stages on each level?

Excellent work, although it's probably not wise to put links to Nintendo copyrighted files on UKVAC. I'd hate the 'VAC to get into any legal trouble. Maybe it would be better if you made a bsdiff patch for each of the three roms you've altered instead? Not detracting from the excellent work you've done here, just don't want any heat for UKVAC by linking to roms.

Thanks cmonkey, you're right, I should have remembered what Nintendo are like. I'll sort out the diffs.
I wouldn't call it "excellent work" though, if you look at the code it was a bit bodged.

aeroflott: The point of this was to create a Freeplay with attract DK that didn't involve purchasing extra kits. The brasington kits are brilliant, I own quite a few, and so is the D2K kit, but if you're not particularly interested in paying for high-scores/addons to your DK, then this is a simple and free way to get the freeplay without burning the screen.
