I had pretty much entire internals for a Donkey Kong thanks to @cacker and a 19 inch VGA CRT from Dean Swain.
Plan was to scratch build a cab to house it all but out of nowhere @Alpha1 offered up a blue cab shell so was perfect timing for me.
It had a Mario Bros history which I was tempted to restore it as but seeing as I had all the parts for a Donkey Kong it was a no brainer.
Love that Mario Art though!!
Was a pretty basic restore and not 100% finished.
Took the chassis to @gunblade who worked his magic as usual.
The PCB from Cacker was faulty but I had the roms reburned and replaced the sync pot on the video PCB which solved all the issues.
Stripped the Mario art which would have been heartbreaking if it was minty but was torn in a few places and badly faded on one side so I didnt feel too bad!
Bezel is an original from @Nintendo Arcade and the CPO is an original and in my stash for a few years.
I’m hoping to track down an original Marquee at some point if anyone has one out there but in the meantime I have a really cool limited run of the Kong Off 2 Marquee which is my favourite of the Kong Off artworks and a nice little talking piece.
Couple of really cool history items on the cab including the USA distributor badge and the licence sticker from mid 80’s.
Playing like a dream now and I want to do some bits of body work before I put the DK side art on but thanks to all who made this happen. Really chuffed to have a nice blue DK back in my game room.
