Control Panel.
I posted in another thread regarding my reworking of the original artwork and I'm now working with a guy in the USA who has the original painting that I'm lookiung to incorperate into a new version of the CPO.. So ill be updating that later.
Im currently restoring a Dragons Lair and had in the past removed my old and damaged overlay and replaced it with a Quater Arcade version (as many have). Unfortunately the panel has delaminated in a number of places so its time to replace it. I was never very impressed with the quality of it in...

My original contol panel had a new Quater Arcade overlay applied 15 years ago as the original was damaged and had been drilled through in a number of places to fit Space Ace selector buttons and a different joystick.

Original artwork removed above.
15 years later and the Quater Arcade vesion has started to de laminate so it was at that point I decided to do my own.

I had replaced the original Wico joystick bushing 15 years ago too and it was supprising to see that it had completely deteriorated in staorage. In fact my entire stash of Joysticks had all had the rubber bushings perish.

I fortunately had some original replacements and ordered some new ones from Arcadeshop in the USA too. I used the NOS ones I had to make the repairs so everything is still original.
I noticed that rust staining had come through from the metal panel into the artwork so after stripping the control panel I gave it a good coat of galvanised paint to stop any staning.

I installed the controls for now so I could test everything and these will obviously be removed and re fitted when the overlay artwork is 100% finished.
I also fitted a 1mm thick adhesive backed foam strip to the rear of the panel so it would not damage the monitor glass that its positioned over.
