Happy New Year Guys,

Arcade Odysseus is still on hiatus from the arcade scene. I'm hoping to get back with a retrospective on Edinburgh at some point in the near future. In the meantime, however, please help yourself to my musings on fantasy role-playing miniatures from the 1980s, and how to display them in the here and now.

Enjoy!

Nice display, I recently binned a load of very badly painted D&D figures from the early 80s. Definitely wouldn't have wanted to put them on display 😁

Cheers Vorbis.

My painting wasn't pretty either. The cure for that was paint stripper! Perhaps when I'm retired, if my eyesight holds up, and I still have a steady hand, I'll have another go...

Yeah, I thought about stripping them but still would've lacked the space (or permission from my wife) to display them. I did sell a couple of the boxed sets on eBay. Shit paint included.

how strange, i have just bought about 60 miniatures that need to be painted, so today was the first day i had the chance to visit my local store, the person there recommended Fanatic paints over citadel and vallejo(which i used to always use)

i've not painted a mini for about 4 years, and even then i was pretty shite, i think i need to buy some dry brushes, i used to use the normal brushes i used to paint with

need lots of tips for painting, so feel free, i know about inking and dry brushing, but only very basic stuff
