Least you got your money back mate , cant fault him realy.
Dave.
I found a great junk shop near meAlthough I had a lot of pirate stuff/cinema mainly I bought a SH&& load of stuff too. Never did gamewise as had all the automation, pompey pirates , and medway boys stuff anyhow. I pirated a few systems ....
Flesh Gordon, not seen that in a while. I think Flesh Gordon 2 was not too bad, cant remember if that or the origiinal had the "ring" scene in. I used to collect a lot of orginals and did manage to get all the lemon posicle series. In Leicester there was this MASSIVE vhs rental place, which I think stored films for the shops. Once a year they would open up and sell old tapes. Unlike these days they were not searching up the prices, you could get lucky. That is the one think I miss now. The going around car boots and say finding a copy of anything on a hokushin label or extermintaor or a death wish. You just dont get that any more. Big bulky boxes with great covers. not a boring DVD slip !
I had a contact raised by the police at 6AM smashing the door down with his kids in the house, making an example of people who sold video nasties. He stopped after that as upset his family. If you think video nasties are scary would you now let your kids go to a room full of old men and swap computer and public domain stuff, that all we did at computer club . But now I would be the old man ! Micro mart was your friend !
Only 2 weeks ago…
Been twice already
Set up by the council stuff is coming through from the landfill sites , to prevent so much going into landfill,
managed to get nightmare on elm street .. 1&2 and scanners 1&2
And The shivers , some ninja films & Chuck Norris stuff.. all vhs ..
Rental copies is good
Another friend and me we worked at a Tv company … Lenson & heath ( did amstrad amsat stuff)
We had a vhs recorder worked tape to tape even after they brought out an anti pirate design in the tape cassette design …. He sold a few copies of
Swarzaneeger Commamdo .
Amd Batman - tim burtons.
We had loads of Atari -st copies
And share ware..
My earliest memory of this is
Commodore Vic 20-
Accrosss the road lived the bank manager - so the manager had computers too. iBM I think .
The son had a shelf full of games on vic 20 and loads of share ware playable demos most of all shoot em ups
Great music
Great graphics etc..
They had a modem.
He called us up on the phone
once with his voice generated on
A computer, also told me he knew how to get into the bank with this modem
As this is what his dad did working from home!
I never did see him do it - but he
Said he could take peoples money if he wanted.
This was the 80’s so modem was pretty new stuff , He liked calling people up with a stupid voice he had created on the computer.
He coded …
Amd wanted to teach me
I tired for a while - basic & C …
But they moved away.
Obviously being the bank managers
Son he had a Vic 20 from new
Shelf full of games ..
But he had a dark side to his personality.
He was hellbent on causing
Some kind of mischief with the knowlage he had learnt.
He was always doing prank calls
And he didn’t mind doing scary calls
Either!
I didn’t mind having a laugh but he didn’t mind scaring old lady’s pretending to be like fready Kruger over the phone you know what I mean!
