Ebay sales / coin mechs

I quite often see ebay auctions stating that the coin mech has been removed or disabled to comply with listing rules. Does anyone know what the legalities are of selling a mech enabled arcade machine, if any? A guy is offering me 250 on my Chase HQ, he was insistent that I get the mech working properly as he intends to put it in his shop for customers to play.

Obviously I can make it work and just unplug it so I'm supplying a machine that isn't pay to play, and he can then plug it back in, but is disconnecting it actually necessary in the first place, or is this gambling machines only (which Pinballs were classed as for a while)?

Not necessary but as a disclaimer for Feebay to stop your listing being removed, is a good idea. Like they give a toss anyway these days, fees is fees

Advertise as "Coin mech disabled" but leave it working.

I think it is more aimed at Fruitys / SWP, all to do with the law regarding the sales of these to the general public.... you now have to have a gaming license to SELL as well as op. Trick with this is it applies to Pinballs as well as fruitys and poker machines as the LAW still claims pinnys are a "game of chance" due to the winning of free games.

Nice to see yet another government department concentrating on the issues that really matter

It's gone now, one of the other potential buyers bought it instead, so it's gone to a gamer/collector instead of a shop I think I'll start stating the coin mech is disabled next time I sell something with a working one.

Pins and vids are now classed as non gaming machines, ops licence not required to sell either.
