Glad this is done , luckily on works time as finished a job a day early so was being paid ! Nothing salvageable on this apart from internal hinges and locating clip to pull in when fit. Those buttons were so seized they got drilled out.
Did another while in the swing of it, not quite as bad as previous.

These spare panels have been altered through some blanking out and welding. The threads for the joysticks were tac welded so very strong and provide a nice clean control panel. These will be wired up with some spare xenon looms and can be interchangeable on the cabinet.

Loads of bits on the go, done all the zinc oxide and first coat on 3 panels .
Also brought a blackening solution (3 part ) to turn a load of button screws and a few smaller metal panels back to black (and look like new !)

Slightly early in the finishing phase - red oxide and one spray so far.
These will have overlays added. The Joystick threaded bar was tack welded onto panel .
Both spare panels ( see earlier configuration - one from
Outside xenon) can be interchanged with xenon cabinet.80D38BF4-4786-4261-8190-92178D32853A.jpegF8B6C67E-8901-4FE4-9814-E4F016AAC51D.jpeg420840A0-EE70-4295-A907-A59A028339A2.jpegEBCE7745-6322-4F09-A50B-B3E1922E2B26.jpeg

Great work on these control panels Ant. I remember the ones that I've done over the years took way longer than expected getting rust off and filling in and redrilling holes. It's very satisfying when you see it all finished.

Sometimes missing on xenon’s .
These are used to lock the control panel into wing of cabinet, adds strength to cabinet and keeps the control panel pulled in.
Had to make a few of these so thought I would share in case anyone else needs.
- M6 30mm button screw
- washer
- 10mm collar (aluminum but could be any sort of tubing.

For future uses !
All reconditioned and gone through any rust removal and then blackening process ( 3 step - alkaline - rinse - blacking solution - rinse
- dewatering oil) sounds a lot of work but isn’t . Total process leas
Than 40 minutes.
Well worth doing especially if a large quantity.
Use these all the time and costly to buy especially in a handful of each.
Helped 3 members and counting with these already!
