Only found out about this stuff today. Sounds good for certain jobs. Anyone here use it?

63/37 eutectic solder is a tin-lead alloy composed of 63% tin and 37% lead that melts and solidifies instantly at 183°C (361°F) with no plastic or pasty transition phase.

I think ai is making that sound more exotic than it is. I use Kester 63/37 for all my soldering. I really like it and I would guess most people use a variation of that as it’s a classic leaded solder. I did not know that the melting point was so low I also had not heard the term eutectic before. I just had an experiment and discovered that Kester solder melts at around 220 degrees C. I personally use a temp of around 300 degrees C which I find works well to heat up the legs of components and flow well.

I just bought a new reel,1lb for £70 delivered. Expensive stuff but lasts me a long time.

Yes, I had to Google what 'eutectic' meant. I've never heard of it before and have just been using 60/40. I might give it a try and see if I notice any difference.
