you need a special spray on glue that comes out like silly string and then once dry you need to use a laminate trimmer to trim edges

im a carpenter and do this stuff with work tops

persona;;y I would use vinyl its so much easier to work withsilverfox07862014-01-26 21:50:54

Is this for the Baby Pacman?

If it is, I would suggest ordering some samples from Formica UK to match against your cab, if you haven't sanded it yet.

I personally think the Chrome Yellow (F1485) and Sunny Yellow (the code was F6471 - but can't find this on the site) are close matches. But it would be good to get a second opinion from someone else who has a cab

I'd go for a 0.7mm thickness aswell

I have been trying to find something suitable for the Crossbow Restoration

1st problem is I need something tough like Laminate, but the original stuff is really thin and to make it worse I need some Satin finish Black, and most have Gloss or Matt

It really needs to be the same as what they use on the Kitchen Carcases, so I really need to use melamine faced chipboard or get some melamine and cover the chipboard I already have

I can find some Gloss one side and Satin other MFC but they don't list sheets wide enough for me to cut out the side, then it will be a bitch to cut it out, when it's all curved shapes

Anyone got any ideas

Isn't the Black Diamond Formica like a satin black? I suppose it won't cost you anything to get a sample of that. Thinest they do is generally 0.7mm

Sizes are 3050mm x 1300mm or 3660mm x 1525mm - not good enough?

I took a peice to this place which I found in Nuneaton, which I pass on the way work. glad I never wasted my time going for special trip, they were muppets

He's telling me they don't supply much in just sheets themself anymore, I thought WHAT! you have it on the site? they hadn't nothing the thickness this was and non in Satin Black

I give up in the country, it's hopeless for anything

You can get it from:

http://www.idsurfaces.co.uk/

You will need to contact them and get it from one of their branches.

Formica do a colour called 'Jet Black' which is available in satin (eggshell) finish.

As said already, request samples from Formica before ordering anything.

ID Surfaces can also supply the contact adhesive. I got some from them in a tin...I am told the spray stuff is easier to work with though.
